The two eleven Sam Robbins lives in 1803 and Molly Jennings lives in 2006, but their lives crossing the emotional barrier that 200 years of separation transforms the life of Molly.
Overwhelmed by loneliness after the death of her father, Molly Jennings is considered moving to Connecticut in the United States from England when his mother remarried an American. Trying desperately to find his place in his new family, Molly reluctantly joins his family on a trip to Mystic Seaport. As the rain prevented the trip, Molly and her family, riding in a used bookstore in search of refuge. For reasons unknown to Molly, who is attracted by a dirty old book of Admiral Lord Nelson, who gives the name of the hero of the Battle of Trafalgar. You can not explain his excitement about this discovery, purchases of books Molly. Shortly after reading the book, is a note on the piece of the flag again. Apparently, he is Lord Nelson's ship, the Victory, and is a valuable asset of a person by the name of Samuel Robbins.
Although Molly's mother tries to make his new home as pleasant as possible, Molly continues to lose your home in England. In an attempt to please Molly, his mother surprised him with a trip to his grandparents in England. While his grandfather, who visit the restored ship Victory at Portsmouth, England, where strange things happen with the visions and voices heard that for her. Although Molly is in your own adventure, a connection is established exciting times of your family history.
She learns from the Robbins Young Sam, who was kidnapped by the gang of "press" at the age of eleven, with his uncle, and placed in the Royal Navy. Sam is in terrible conditions, having the most menial tasks. Despite this, Sam is a student as soon as possible the life and loves sailing. However, he continues to suffer the horrors and suffering beyond imagination.
The novel comes and goes with the current time spent in alternating chapters. adventure in which you are immersed in the life of Molly and Sat
